a great gathering of love and reflection

Beneath an ancient, sacred oak, eternal vows were to be exchanged.  Hundreds of locally grown, pastel and white flowers gathered from nearby farms and gardens waited patiently in buckets while a wall of winter vine was erected upon the trunk.  Bright green princess vine with navy berries crawled alongside lacy dusty miller and privet which I had collected from my yard that morning.  Heirloom garden roses, local roses, button ranunculus and ruffled lisianthus tucked in gracefully amongst the crawling greenery. 

It was a rather warm January day and the Inn had a peaceful laze to it accentuated by the grassy, rolling hills in the brightest of green given our early winter rain.  Caroline and Will dressed separately in suite with their loved ones.  Both were equally as relaxed as the day felt as they prepared for the moment that brought friends and family across state lines and even seas to their hometown where they would say I do to great cheer.

Caroline wore a gown of applique and traditional veil as she and Will wandered the garden paths post-nuptial smiling like school children.  She, holding a fluffy bouquet of scented white and pastel winter blooms accented with the first bundle of fragrant lavender lilac brought to the markets from northeast.  Seasonality and locality played a large factor in the elemental parts of the whole as they wished for their guests an elevated botanical experience that was true to their home of which they had just swung open the door to a large gathering of well wishers and revelers in the celebration.  

The love and joy were palpable, as was the mutual adoration that Will and Caroline felt for one another and exuded unto their guests as their guests reflected it back unto them as a soft focused spotlight that shone brightly through the day, well into night.
