Dinner tables showed Icelandic poppies, ranunculus, sweetpea, hellebores, fritillaria and garden roses in verdant earth tones.  On the central fountain, we piled high citrus fruit and flowering branches into verdigrised campo de fiore terracotta urns.  The bride changed into her mom’s bridal gown which she had refashioned for the afterparty down the road.  Ashley and Lee’s wedding was ripe with thoughtful nostalgia and sweet intention.

Ashley and Lee were married in a traditional church ceremony downtown Santa Barbara officiated by Lee’s childhood pastor.  Afterwards, guests were welcomed to an Italian style family feast with personalized note cards beautifully written by the bride and satchels of bomboniera honoring Ashley’s heritage.  It was a warm April day and spring flowers were bursting in bloom.  For the church service, we adorned the altar with fragrant white lilac, flowering branches and campanula meadows.  Ashley accessorized her gown with pearls and carried a small bouquet of garden roses, sweet pea and ranunculus.  The flower girls wore head crowns of fluffy white babies breath and carried baskets filled with the same.
