It is the ephemeral quality of botanicals and the seasons to which they are tied that serve as a spring of inspiration at Ojala Floral.  Ashley views the indigenous landscape as an ever changing playground from which to gather and embellish.  Nature’s perfectly unplanned variations evoke an awe in her that she loves to share.  Her work tends to be romantic, feathery and light with shapes that tumble and ramble.

The collaborative journey of creating a concept is a recipe of well balanced parts; natural landscape, seasonality, identifying the desired overall feeling and refining elemental parts of the whole. The joy in the process leads to an evocation expressed in color, texture and fragrance felt more than observed.  

As a sentimental and nostalgic person, Ashley has collected a trove of antique vessels and various props which she likes to incorporate.  With over ten years of experience creating weddings and events, her work has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, Jenni Kayne and Style Me Pretty among others.

Ojala Floral sources locally and responsibly by supporting small growers and doing a bit of foraging so the work reflects the natural surroundings.
